In this collaborative role, you’ll work closely with data scientists, engineers, and business partners to shape analytical questions. You’ll build and validate analyses, contribute to data preparation, modeling, and visualization efforts. This happens in a production environment while building your technical skills.

You’ll apply machine learning algorithms to develop predictive models for business applications and extract insights from semi-structured data using NLP. Design and develop data visualizations for data storytelling, and prototype data science products. Coordinate with subject matter experts on data sources from the data warehouse.

Actively participate in department initiatives to develop a best-in-class Data Science function. Complete work with limited day-to-day supervision in a supportive team setting. Continue growing analytical skills through hands-on production work.

Requirements

  • Experience translating business questions into analytical tasks with guidance and support
  • Ability to design, extract, clean, and analyze data from enterprise data sources (e.g., data warehouse extracts) in partnership with SMEs
  • Hands-on experience applying statistical or machine learning techniques to structured data, with exposure to text or semi-structured data
  • Experience building or contributing to data visualizations and supporting the data pipelines behind them
  • Software engineering fundamentals in Python, including writing readable, testable, and maintainable code
  • Experience working with APIs and production data interfaces
  • A quality mindset around checking, validating, and documenting analytical results
  • Proficient applying machine learning to data analysis for prediction and classification

Responsibilities

  • Apply Machine Learning algorithms to develop predictive models for business applications
  • Extract meaningful insight from semi-structured and unstructured data sources, including natural language processing (NLP)
  • Design, extract, normalize, analyze, review and automate analysis utilizing Data Warehouse, extracts and data exploration tools
  • Coordinate with appropriate subject matter experts on data source requirements
  • Design and develop data visualizations for data storytelling
  • Prototype data science products and applications
  • Actively participate in the completion of department initiatives to support a best-in-class Data Science function
  • Complete work with limited day-to-day supervision
