About this role

Covista, America's largest healthcare educator, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the implementation, maintenance, performance tuning, and capacity management for all organizational software systems. This role provides software solutions delivery support and mentoring for Software Engineers, working within a tech-enabled education environment that serves more than 97,000 students.

In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of software solutions that meet business requirements and technical specifications, analyzing project needs and recommending solutions to enable enterprise integration. You will collaborate with product managers, architects, QA, and other stakeholders to gather and refine software requirements, while maintaining and enhancing existing applications through bug fixes and feature enhancements.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required
  • Experience leading software implementation, maintenance, and performance tuning
  • Ability to analyze project needs and recommend enterprise integration solutions
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including product managers, architects, and QA
  • Proven ability to mentor and train technical team members

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of software solutions that meet business requirements and technical specifications

  • Develop and implement software solutions, standards, processes, and security
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA, and other stakeholders to gather and refine software requirements and developments
  • Maintain and enhance existing software applications through bug fixes and feature enhancements
  • Attend vendor training and conferences for continuing skills development
  • Train and mentor team members and other Covista technical resources as necessary
  • Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve software development practices
