Join the team redefining how the world experiences design at Canva. As a Senior Product Manager on the Content Safety team, you will ensure that content created with Canva remains safe for all users, directly supporting our Trust & Safety Operations team of moderators.
In this role, you will translate complex multi-stakeholder needs into intuitive products and services, collaborating with engineers to turn safety into usability. You will define measurable safety outcomes, prioritize incoming requests, and support the Team Eng Lead in managing the backlog and development sprints.
You will build a deep understanding of current user protection mechanisms across Canva, driving innovation in safety capabilities to stay ahead of emerging threats and industry regulations. Partnering with engineering leadership, you will refine and operationalize the vision and strategy for content safety across review tooling, policy enforcement, and UX.
This role offers the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams including data science, investigations, operations, legal, policy, GenAI, education, and enterprise. You will proactively communicate product vision and roadmap progress to stakeholders at all levels, building visibility for the team's impact on safety and risk.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Product Manager, ideally in trust and safety, content moderation, or a related safety domain
- Ability to translate complex multi-stakeholder needs into intuitive products and services
- Strong collaboration skills to work with engineers, data science, legal, policy, and operations teams
- Experience defining and measuring outcomes and impact for product initiatives
- Deep understanding of user protection mechanisms and emerging threats in content safety
- Ability to plan adoption timelines and balance immediate needs with long-term sustainability
- Experience partnering with engineering leadership to develop and execute product vision and strategy
- Excellent communication skills to proactively share product vision and roadmap progress with stakeholders at all levels
Responsibilities
- Translate complex multi-stakeholder needs into intuitive products and services, collaborating with engineers on solutions that turn safety into usability
- Define and articulate measurable safety outcomes and impact for key initiatives, linking work to value and ensuring clear alignment on user needs
- Prioritise incoming requests for the team and support the Team Eng Lead in prioritising the backlog and development sprints
- Build a deep understanding of current user protection mechanisms across Canva to understand existing issues and escalation points
- Plan out adoption timelines with buy-in from internal teams, balancing immediate needs with long-term sustainability and efficiency
- Partner with engineering leadership to refine and operationalise the vision and strategy for content safety across review tooling, policy enforcement, UX, and wellness
- Proactively communicate product vision, roadmap progress, and upcoming changes to stakeholders at all levels in the organization
- Assess Canva product safety risks and work closely with product teams to ensure Trust & Safety mitigations align with industry best practices
