About this role
The Security Engineer joins a global team of security engineers, architects, and practitioners enabling business growth and secure access to information, data, and services from anywhere. The role demands broad knowledge in IT and IT security, focused on servers, endpoints, and environments. Security is incorporated into all components per standards and aligned to the risk framework.
Administer, optimize, and automate the Zscaler suite including ZIA and ZPA for secure internet and private application access across global environments. Design secure network and cloud architectures with traffic forwarding, Client Connector deployments, segmentation, and Zero Trust enforcement. Integrate security into business initiatives like cloud migrations and infrastructure projects.
Monitor logs, analyze incidents, support compliance, and remediate issues in on-prem, hybrid, and cloud setups. Provide on-call support for remote access and critical platforms, managing upgrades, certificates, and policy optimization. Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity teams worldwide.
Maintain documentation, conduct peer reviews, and continuously improve security capabilities through incident response and troubleshooting. Work across cross-functional teams to align security with business value. Operate effectively in high-pressure environments with strong problem-solving skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- One or more relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, GIAC, CCSK, CEH, Security+, AWS/Azure/GCP, CCNS, ITIL, RHCE, Microsoft, or similar)
- 3–6 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, endpoint security, or enterprise systems administration
- Hands-on experience with endpoint security technologies (EDR, antivirus, encryption, patching, posture management) in Windows environments; Linux experience is a plus
- Experience deploying and managing Zscaler solutions (ZIA/ZPA) and implementing Zero Trust architectures
- Knowledge of cloud and network security, including VPNs, GRE/IPSec tunnels, segmentation, and secure access controls
- Scripting skills (PowerShell or Python) for automation and compliance tasks
- Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Benchmarks, or ISO 27001; experience supporting audits and compliance initiatives
Responsibilities

- Provide on-call support for secure remote access and critical security platforms, resolving high-priority and business-impacting incidents
- Manage solution lifecycle activities including upgrades, certificate renewals, policy optimization, and capacity planning
- Maintain documentation, conduct peer reviews, and collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to continuously improve security capabilities
- Provide incident response and troubleshooting support as needed
