Collins Aerospace is a leader in technologically advanced, intelligent solutions for the aerospace and defense industry. The company seeks an Entry-Level Data Scientist to unlock the power of data organization-wide. Analyze complex datasets, build predictive models, and deliver insights influencing strategic decisions and performance.
Plan and collaborate with technical and non-technical teams on key business initiatives. Aggregate, filter, and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and correlations delivered as visualizations for leadership. Provide day-to-day ad hoc analysis addressing immediate business needs.
Ensure data integrity by reviewing data, identifying issues, and developing corrections. Create scorecards, drill-down dashboards, and detailed reports for executive leadership. Build interactive, intuitive visualizations and maintain ongoing dashboard ownership and user support.
This hybrid position supports operations and supply chain in a matrixed organization. Learn foundational data sources, key performance metrics, and data-driven product planning from design to sustainment. Design, troubleshoot, and maintain ETL pipelines for quality data products.
Requirements
- Typically requires a University Degree and less than 2 years prior relevant experience
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Experience in operations, supply chain, data engineering, and/or data analytics or Bachelor’s in engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, economics, or related technical field
- Experience using MRP, ERP, and MES systems (SAP preferred)
- Experience in design, implementations, and optimization in relational SQL databases
- Experience with data cleansing, curation, mining, manipulation, and analysis from disparate systems (SQL, Python preferred)
- Experience with Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar
