About this role
We are seeking a highly technical Senior AI Product Manager who operates at the intersection of product strategy, data science, and engineering. This role suits someone who thinks like a product leader, reasons like a data scientist, and collaborates like an engineer.
You will lead development of AI-powered products and agentic systems that transform WEX’s internal operations. The position requires owning the end-to-end product lifecycle from opportunity identification and problem framing through experimentation and productionization.
This is not a pure delivery role. You must bring strong technical depth in AI/ML systems, data, and architecture paired with a product mindset focused on impact, usability, and measurable outcomes.
Partner closely with data scientists and engineers while acting as the bridge between business, engineering, and data teams. Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to align stakeholders around priorities, tradeoffs, and impact.
Requirements
- 5+ years in product management, data science, ML engineering, or related technical roles.
- Proven experience building or leading AI/ML-powered products from concept to production.
- Strong understanding of machine learning, LLMs, and modern AI architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Python, APIs, and data systems.
- Familiarity with LLM frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex and model providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google.
- Ability to engage deeply in discussions on model behavior, prompt design, evaluation, and system tradeoffs.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the roadmap for AI-driven products and intelligent automation initiatives.
- Identify high-impact opportunities where AI and agentic systems can drive efficiency or unlock new capabilities.
- Work closely with stakeholders to translate ambiguous business problems into well-defined AI product opportunities.
- Partner with data scientists and engineers on model selection, architecture, data strategy, and system design.
- Lead development of AI-powered applications including LLM-based systems, agentic workflows, and automation tools.
- Drive rapid experimentation through POCs and prototypes while guiding successful solutions into production.
- Define success metrics, design experiments, and leverage data to evaluate performance and iterate on solutions.
- Ensure production systems are reliable and continuously improving based on real-world usage and business needs.
