About this role

This role specializes in applying knowledge of experimental methodologies, statistics, optimization, probability theory, and machine learning to build tools and perform statistical analysis and modeling. As a Security Data Analyst at Mavenir, you will focus on protecting networks from malicious actors.

You will work hands-on with computer networks and tools for network traffic analysis, leveraging your understanding of telco-specific protocols such as SS7, Diameter, SIP, and GTP. Your analytical thinking will drive data mining and scripting in Python, LUA, or Bash to detect threats.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with computer networks and tools used for network traffic analysis.
  • Understanding of telco-specific network protocols (SS7, Diameter, SIP, GTP, HTTP/2).
  • Strong analytical thinking.
  • Experience with data mining and familiarity with database technologies (including NoSQL databases).
  • (Power)-user or admin-level knowledge of Linux OS.
  • Ability to create scripts in languages such as Python, LUA, or Bash.
  • EU citizen or holder of permanent residency within the European Union.
  • Genuine passion for network security.

Responsibilities

  • Apply experimental methodologies, statistics, optimization, probability theory, and machine learning to build tools and perform statistical analysis and modeling.
  • Analyze network traffic using specialized tools and hands-on experience with computer networks.
  • Leverage understanding of telco-specific network protocols (SS7, Diameter, SIP, GTP, HTTP/2) for security analysis.
  • Perform data mining and work with database technologies, including NoSQL databases.
  • Develop scripts in Python, LUA, or Bash for automation and threat detection.
  • Utilize Linux OS at power-user or admin level to manage security tools.
  • Work with virtualization and containerization technologies to deploy and maintain security solutions.
