About this role
Join QBE as a Junior Data Scientist and help turn data into meaningful business impact across our Asia operations. In this role, you'll work on real-world challenges that improve decision-making, performance and customer outcomes, using data science, analytics and modern tools to solve complex business problems.
You'll partner closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, shape practical analytical solutions, and deliver clear recommendations that influence action. Your day-to-day involves developing and refining analytical use cases, supporting pricing projects with machine learning components, and applying DevOps or MLOps practices where appropriate.

Requirements
- Experience in data science, analytics, or a related field with a focus on solving complex business problems.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques and the ability to apply them to pricing or similar projects.
- Proficiency in data visualisation and presentation tools to communicate results clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of DevOps or MLOps practices for model deployment and maintenance.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment and collaborate across teams in Hong Kong and the broader Asia region.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to practical business impact.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine analytical use cases with internal stakeholders, in alignment with Analytics leads and business partners.
- Support the development and ongoing enhancement of pricing projects, incorporating machine learning components and applying DevOps and/or MLOps practices where appropriate.
- Prepare and present analyses and data visualisations that clearly communicate results, insights, and recommendations to business stakeholders.
- Share knowledge and contribute reusable practices, tools, and techniques across the team.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand their needs and shape practical analytical solutions that drive business outcomes.
- Take ownership of project delivery and collaborate with experienced analytics professionals in a high-impact environment.
