About this role

Johnson & Johnson is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join our team at Shockwave Medical Costa Rica. We are searching for a talented and enthusiastic Modern Data Stack Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines using technologies like Fivetran, Databricks, and Python into our Snowflake data warehouse.

In this role, you will transform data using tools like dbt and Coalesce, and ensure data quality, security, and performance of the pipelines. You will solve our most challenging data integration problems, sourcing from structured and unstructured data sources including Oracle Fusion Cloud, Salesforce, and Adaptive Planning.

You will assist in owning existing processes running in production, optimizing complex code through advanced algorithmic concepts. You will also implement data observability tools like Monte Carlo and create dashboards and advanced visualizations in Power BI.

This position offers the opportunity to stay up to date on the latest trends and technologies in the modern data stack, including Snowflake, Fivetran, and Coalesce. You will document data pipelines and processes for maintainability and knowledge sharing within a collaborative, inclusive work environment.

Requirements

5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
Proven experience with designing and building data pipelines.
Strong knowledge of Snowflake, SQL, Python, and Snowflake.
Advanced experience with data modeling and data transformation techniques.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Proficiency in extracting and transforming data from structured and unstructured sources.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and launch sophisticated data models in Snowflake that support multiple use cases across different products or domains.
Assist in owning existing processes running in production, optimizing complex code through advanced algorithmic concepts.
Solve our most challenging data integration problems, utilizing Fivetran, Python, DBT/Coalesce frameworks and query techniques, sourcing from structured and unstructured data sources.
Implement data quality checks and monitoring processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance for efficiency and scalability.
Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues to ensure data availability.
Create dashboards and advanced visualizations in Power BI.
Implement data observability tools like Monte Carlo.
