About this role
In the Controlling Solutions division, we are building a comprehensive data foundation for the REWE Group's controlling organization, future-proofed within a company-wide data mesh architecture. You will manage it in daily operations alongside our data experts to ensure lasting data quality.
You will develop data products from source to consumer-oriented views, and build scalable pipelines using cloud and AI technologies. Automating CI/CD, testing, scheduling, and monitoring is part of your everyday work to ensure high data quality.
You will work closely with other data engineers and data experts to advance common data modeling standards and bring stable, secure data products into production. Cross-functional collaboration and modern infrastructure are key to our approach.
You will shape innovative data products and leverage cutting-edge cloud and AI technologies to drive better decision-making. This role offers the chance to transform the controlling organization's data landscape. Join us to make data products more productive and future-ready.
Requirements
- Analytical competence: structured approach to complex problems, pragmatic data-driven solutions, and ability to translate business requirements into pipelines.
- Data and development skills: working experience with SQL, relational cloud databases like Snowflake, cloud platforms like GCP, and ETL/ELT tools like DBT.
- Data engineering tools: knowledge of DBT, Control M, GIT, CI/CD, and Python for scalable data processing.
- Technology affinity: staying updated on modern data, cloud, and AI technologies; bringing new impulses to the team.
- Agile working: familiarity with agile methods and understanding of best practices and code conventions.
- Communication: ability to convey technical topics to different audiences, confident in German and English.
Responsibilities
- Develop data products from source to consumer-oriented views to answer relevant business questions and improve decision-making in controlling and management.
- Design and operate scalable, efficient pipelines from diverse data sources with lasting high data quality.
- Utilize modern cloud and AI technologies to quickly implement new ideas and operate robust data pipelines.

- Collaborate closely with other data engineers and data experts to evolve common data modeling standards and bring stable, secure data products into production.
